• Itinerary: Up to Tazzetti refuge the route is identical to the 42 km marathon. From here, the trail climbs up debris to the Rocciamelone glacier, at the border with France. Passage through the glacial basin requires particular attention in case of poor visibility (fog, snowfall or strong wind).

• Final ascent: After the glacier, a slope of scree is climbed to reach a saddle, from here the trail turns left, following a long ridge to the summit of Rocciamelone at 3538 meters, from where you can enjoy a 360° panorama that embraces the Po Valley, Monviso, Barre des Écrins, Grande Casse, Grand Motte, Mont Blanc, Grand Combin, Matterhorn and Monte Rosa.

• Itinerary: The route starts and ends in Usseglio, crossing two passes over 3000 meters and some snowfields such as the former Bertà glacier. It winds mainly on forest roads, mule tracks, high altitude trails, snowfields and rocky slopes and scree sections that require the ability to move on rough and exposed terrain.

• Technical characteristics: The itinerary, classified with the red "EE" sticker for experienced hikers, crosses panoramic stages: from Cibrario refuge, passing through Colle Sulè and Colle Autaret, to the technical ascent through scree that leads to Punta Costan 3305 m, in French territory.

• Atmosphere and landscape: The race with over a hundred volunteers on the route ready to offer assistance and support. After a quick descent to Marmutteri and a challenging climb to Tazzetti refuge, the route continues along lakes, meadows and woods, ending with a triumphant arrival, accompanied by the enthusiasm of spectators and festive cowbells.
