Tazzetti Refuge: your home at altitude
In Valle di Viù (Valli di Lanzo), at an altitude of 2,642 meters. Since 1980 it has been managed by CAI Chieri with passion and alpine hospitality spirit.A landmark for CAI hikers and mountaineers since 1935, the Ernesto Tazzetti Refuge stands in the heart of the Valli di Lanzo, in the enchanting Fons d' Rumour basin, at 2,642 meters above sea level. Reachable in 2.5–3 hours of walking from Lake Malciaussia, near Usseglio (Turin), it has been managed since 1980 by the CAI of Chieri thanks to the commitment and dedication of volunteer members.
With 33 beds, it offers refreshment and accommodation to hikers, mountaineers and families. It is the ideal base for those who want to tackle Rocciamelone from the north and east slopes, and also serves as a reference center for mountain rescue at altitude. An authentic place, where the mountains are experienced with respect and conviviality.
The refuge is open on weekends (from Saturday lunch to Sunday lunch) from June 20 to September 20, and with continuous service from July 10 to September 6, 2026. For overnight stays, booking through Book Refuges is mandatory.
